Civil Society Organisations will be trained on the United Nations Convention Against Corruption in Bukavu

From 24 to 26 October 2017, the Anti-Corruption Research Center (CERC) and selected anti-corruption experts and practitioners will organize a training workshop for civil society organizations on the review mechanism of the UN Convention Against corruption (UNCAC). The 3-day training workshop will be held in Bukavu and will gather more than 40 participants and experts from 4 provinces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo including Tanganyika, North-Kivu and South-Kivu. The Convention is the only legally binding international anti-corruption instrument. 25 youth trained in anticorruption strategies and community integrity building in Uvira

On Saturday, July 15, 2017, CERC organized a training course on anti-corruption strategies and community integrity building for the benefit of 25 young people. The workshop aimed to provide youth, civil society organizations and academics in Uvira with strategies and tools to fight corruption. In the first part of the workshop, the phenomenon of corruption was explained on the basis of different definitions and the importance of anti-corruption measures was discussed. Uvira, 13, June 2017- CERC is delighted to publish its first Corruption Perception Survey for South-Kivu. This report is a compilation of the results of our first households corruption perception survey conducted in South Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo by the Centre de Recherche sur l’Anti-Corruption.
